Who is admitted

  • A registered UK motor trade business, verified at Companies House

The core obligation

An offer is made against the seller's description. Where the vehicle matches that description, the offer is the amount paid.

A buyer may revise where the vehicle materially differs from what was described — an undeclared category marker, damage that was not mentioned, mileage substantially different from that stated. They may not revise because they have reconsidered, because the market moved, or because they think the seller will accept less on the day.

Consequences

These measures form a buyer's offer certainty score, shown to sellers alongside the money. A buyer who reduces often carries a visible score that costs them business — that is the first and most effective sanction.

Beyond that: repeated unjustified reductions bring a review and then removal. Non-payment brings immediate removal. Neither is discretionary, because a rule applied sometimes is not a rule.

The scoring is not live yet — it needs completed transactions to be calculated fairly, and we will not publish a number we cannot stand behind. The recording is live from the first sale.

For sellers

If a buyer reduced your price on an accurately described car, tell us. It is recorded, it affects their standing, and it is the mechanism the whole platform depends on. How to report it.

Questions

Common questions

Can a buyer ever change the price?

Only where the vehicle materially differs from the description given. Not because they have changed their mind.

What happens if a buyer does not pay?

Immediate removal from the platform, and we intervene directly. The contract of sale is between you and them, so any legal remedy lies against the buyer.

How do I become a buyer?

See becoming a buyer. We check company status, trading history and finance settlement capability first.
