A used car does not have a single price. It has a range, and where your car falls in that range depends on who is looking at it. A buyer with three of the same model already sitting unsold will price yours defensively. A buyer whose regular customer is asking for exactly that specification will price it to win.
That gap is not small. On mainstream cars it is commonly several hundred pounds. On EVs, prestige and anything unusual it runs into thousands, because fewer buyers can move the car quickly and their appetites diverge much further.
The problem is that checking more than one buyer normally means repeating the whole process — the same details, the same forms, the same phone calls, four times over. Most people do it once, accept, and never learn what the other three would have paid.
You give us the vehicle once. We put it in front of buyers whose current buying preferences match your make, model, age, specification and area, and we come back with the strongest offer we can confirm alongside the terms behind it.
That last part matters more than sellers expect. The headline number is only part of the deal.
The complaint we hear most often is not about a low price. It is about a price that changed. A strong figure online, an appointment, then an inspection that finds reasons — paint not to trade standard, kerbing on two alloys, tyres below threshold — and a smaller number, at the point where saying no costs you the afternoon you have already spent.
We work against that in three ways. Offers are made against the description you give, so an accurate description leaves nothing to find. Any reduction at collection is recorded against that buyer. And because you have not signed anything, walking away costs you a phone call rather than the sale.
Registration, mileage, condition and finance position. Two minutes of work, and the more precise you are about marks and history, the firmer the offer that comes back.
Questions
No. The valuation and the market check are free and there is no obligation to accept whatever comes back. If you sell, the buyer pays us.
Your contact details are released to a buyer only when you decide to proceed with them. Marketing consent is a separate optional tick and declining it changes nothing about your offer.
Submitting takes a couple of minutes. We then check the market and come back — usually the same working day.
Yes, and it is common. Ask your lender for a settlement figure and we will show it against your offer so you can see whether you are in equity before you commit to anything. More on selling with finance.
It is worth more comparison, not less. Specialists price difficult cars far more confidently than generalists, and the disagreement between them is exactly where your money is.
