Most depreciation is gradual and predictable. Tesla values move in steps, and the steps are usually triggered by something Tesla did rather than something your car did.

Traditional manufacturers hold list prices and discount through dealers, which cushions used values. Tesla adjusts list prices directly and sometimes substantially, and the used market re-prices within weeks.
For a seller this means timing matters more than it does with other marques, and that a valuation from a couple of months ago may be materially out of date in either direction.
There is no universal answer, and anyone giving you one is guessing. The useful questions are specific: how far are you from the end of a finance agreement, how much warranty remains, and is your variant one where supply is currently tight or plentiful.
What we would say is that waiting without a reason is not a strategy. Depreciation continues in the background, and on a car of this value it is rarely trivial per month.

Relative to a petrol car, generally yes — buyers weigh battery condition and software more heavily. It still matters.
